Novauris Technologies again sponsored the successful Voice Search Conference, held in San Diego, 2-4 March 2009. Novauris executives Yoon Kim and Melvyn Hunt made multiple contributions to the conference, including:

• A live demonstration of single-input spoken entry of US street addresses, recognized entirely locally on a PDA of equivalent processing power to many smartphones.
• The introduction and live demonstration of a new distributed speech recognition technique, which combines many of the individual strengths of purely local ASR and of server-based voice search.
• The presentation of experimental results on the combination of "open" and "targeted" approaches to voice search, showing that the combination can provide advantages over either alone
