Novauris Technologies received the top award for "Best Multimodal Service" at the Mobile Search Awards held at the Olympia Hilton on Sept 16, 2008. The gold award was conferred in recognition of the voice search service provided by Novauris as part of Verizon Wireless's Get It Now Search service. This application allows millions of subscribers in the US to select anything from a catalogue of 1.25 million items (music tracks, recording artists, ring tones, wallpaper and games) simply by speaking the item they want. No multi-input dialogue is needed. The Get It Now Search application can be downloaded by VZW subscribers on to a wide range of handsets. It is now being preloaded on some selected handsets, including the popular LG Chocolate 3.

The awards, organised by telecoms analyst firm Visiongain, honour businesses and individuals who have raised the bar in the mobile search and discovery industry.

Runners-up in the multimodal category were two major North American developers of mobile applications involving speech recognition.
